Many of you know by now that I’m a little obsessed with Archetypes — and the paradoxes that come with the human unraveling.
But first, a little news (if you didn’t already know): in January, I’ll be releasing a new album called LEGACY, which wrestles with collapse, survival, and transformation — across love, family, and the wider world.
“Desire” is our starting point. It explores the paradox of longing — how the very thing we fear might also be the thing that completes us. It’s that part of us that wrestles between control and surrender, destruction and salvation. When we’re too afraid to face it, it can destabilize us. But when we do face it — when we hold space for it — we move closer to wholeness.
We can honor these forces, embrace them, validate them — without always acting on them.
A long time ago, I wrote a song called “Shame’s a Bitter Game.” That title still rings true here. Desire is a dangerous, elemental, warrior-like part of ourselves that deserves to be seen without shame — so it can finally “go quietly into the night.”
“Desire” became my way of leaning into my shadow instead of running from it. The more we repress our darker instincts, the louder they fight back — so I wanted to give them a voice. The song began with a deep, pulsing Moog line that instantly pulled me into that space. Everything else — the lyrics, the layers, the spoken word — came almost subconsciously.
It’s about longing in its rawest form: consuming, dangerous, and yet alive. The bridge especially felt like channeling — letting the shadow speak directly. Creating this track was cathartic. It reminded me that wholeness doesn’t come from denying darkness, but from transforming it through music.
